Can I claim a refund on the excess payment I have had to make because I forgot to carry my Railcard?

No. The terms and conditions of your Railcard state that you must carry it with you at all times if travelling on a discounted ticket.

If you don't carry the Railcard, you will be liable to pay for a brand new ticket at the full un-discounted rate. You will not be entitled to any refund of this charge, even if you can provide a copy of the Railcard at a later date. To view the Terms and Conditions please visit the Railcard website.
